Plateau Mont-Royal

The Plateau-Mont-Royal takes its name from its location on relatively flat terrain north of Sherbrooke Street. Delimited by the Saint-Denis and Saint-Laurent streets and Mont-Royal Avenue, the Plateau is one of the most popular areas of Montreal. Being one of the cultural centers of the city, its shops, restaurants, bars, attract a population to its image, original. People from different cultures, young students, artists, families come together in a close-knit neighbourhood with a rich life where shops, grocery stores and other convenience stores are within walking distance.

A dozen bus lines and three metro stations (Mount Royal, Laurier and Sherbrooke) serve the area in which we find not only some of the finest city parks such as the Parc Lafontaine, the Jeanne Mance park and the famous Mont-Royal, but also restaurants whose reputations are well established as Schwartz's and its famous smoked meat, La Banquise and its poutine and Au pied de Cochon whose kitchen alone defines Montreal.
